I did what I said we were going to do. I went out of the house late and found just one lobster to buy. We paid 7$ for half a kilogram!

The children ate  slipper lobster actually, for the first time. Carla licked the shell, Aris ate the meat, shrugging his shoulders when asked if he liked it and Ana could not  go over the image of huge cockroach, but she took a mouth that she spit in the cat’s saucer.

The locals call him “sapateiro” which in free translation means a shoemaker. That’s how they see it, with the shape of a shoe, you can not contradict one’s imagination.

Brazil is an expensive country, but you can live like a king with little money if you know how. Okay, that’s true anywhere not only in Brazil.

I’m going to start writing in my agenda all the spendings like my dad did when I was little. All my lifetime I hated his approach regarding the money issue but I said to myself I have to try just to see the money flow.

We are talking about our budget so It shouldn’t  be too hard to do it!

Brazilian price abnormalities are for lemons and tuna, both $ 5 / kg. Lime in exchange has a price of only 40c / kg. In Brazil there is only one word for lemon (limao) and for them lemon is actually the lime and what is for us the lemon, for them is Sicilian lemon.

Have you ever thought that the yellow lemon in Brazil is considered gourmet?!

What we find cheap for us as Europeans, here in southern Brazil, are:

Mango 0.8c / kg

Watermelon 0.2c / kg

Green Coconut 0.5c / piece

Fresh tuna $ 5 / kg

Lobster $ 10 / kg

That’s what I’ve discovered so far.

The afternoon was full of color, Carla painted the cover of the book she wrote, Aris experimented a new method of painting, an abstract piece of art came out both on the sheet and on the walls, including those of our neighbors, and Ana had stamped the sheet with her  little palms as proof of her unique and special existence.

In the evening we continued with movies until almost at dawn. We all fell asleep on the double mattress in the children’s room.

It was the first night we all slept together being in the new house. It was perfect! 🙂

I do not know how we fit in and how we all slept so good. It was the night we slept the best since we are in a new house!

Am facut ce-am spus ca o sa facem. Am iesit tarziu din casa si nu am mai gasit decat o langusta. 7$, atat a costat, juma de kil!

Copiii au mancat pentru prima oara. Carla a lins carapacea, Aris s-a limitat la carne dand din umeri cand il intrebam daca-i place iar Ana chiar nu a putut sa treaca peste aspectul de gandac imens, a luat totusi o gura pe care a scuipat-o in farfurioara pisicii.

Localnicii-i spun “sapateiro” ceea ce in traducere libera ar insemna pantofar adica cizmar. Asa-l vad ei, cu forma de pantof… n-ai cum sa contrazici imaginatia.

Brazilia este o tara  scumpa, dar poti trai regeste cu bani putini daca-ti propui. Bine, asta este o chestie valabila oriunde nu numai in Brazilia.

O sa incep sa tin o agenda a cheltuielilor cum o facea tata cand eram eu mic, am urat asta o viata intreaga dar am zis ca trebuie sa incerc sa urmaresc ca si simpla curiozitate, fluxul banilor.

N-ar trebui sa fie prea greu la bugetul nostru! 🙂

Anomalii de preturi in Brazilia sunt lamaile si tonul, ambele 5$/ kg.

Lime-ul in schimb are un pret de numai 40c/kg.

In braziliana exista doar un cuvant pentru lamaie (limao). Pentru ei lamaie este lime-ul de fapt iar ce e pentru noi lamaie pentru ei este lamaie siciliana.

Te-ai fi gandit vreodata ca lamaia asta galbena de-o stim noi, in Brazilia este considerata gourmet?!

Ce este ieftin aici, in sudul Braziliei, pentru noi ca si europeni, sunt:

Mango- 0.8c/kg

Pepene- 0.2c/kg

Nuca de cocos verde- 0.5c/piece

Tonul proaspat- 5$/kg

Langoste- 10$/kg

Cam atat din ce-am descoperit pana acum.

Dupa amiaza a fost plina de culoare, Carla a pictat coperta cartii la care lucreaza cu spor, Aris a experimentat o noua metoda de pictura si a iesit o chestie abstracta atat pe foaie cat si pe pereti, inclusiv pe cei ai vecinilor iar Ana si-a stampilat foaia cu palmele ca dovata a existentei ei unice si speciale.

Seara am continuat-o cu filme, pana aproape de orele diminetii. Am adormit cu totii, pe salteaua dubla din camera copiilor.

A fost prima noapte cand am dormit cu totii impreuna de cand suntem in casa noua.

A fost perfect! 🙂

Nu stiu cum am incaput si cum am dormit cu totii atat de bine, de fapt cel mai bine de cand suntem in casa noua.
