Today it rained all day. When it rains we read so early in the morning Lavinia and the kids knocked on the door of little Prado’s town library. They borrowed 12 books, the weather forecast for the next 3 days isn’t looking so good so they got provisions. 

I made coffee and then I watched them read, the rain outside, the river and the nature around us. 

When it rains we get Oscar inside and we are left with one seat and the big bed where we all fit. 

I love these moments, for me, they are like Christmastime when all family gathers around the fire. 

I love spending time together, having a relaxed time together in the car, listening to the rain, wind and our own thoughts. 

Today we cooked mingau, a dessert-like only at Isaura’s home you could find. 

The recipe is quite simple: 2 spoonfuls of corn starch, 2 spoonfuls of sugar, 1 cup of milk, a drop of vanilla essence and 1 stick of cinnamon. 

Everything is combined and boiled until it reaches a honey-like consistency. 

When it’s ready you take it off the fire and set it aside. 

It’s better-eaten cold, but we were too impatient and burned our tongue. 

It’s good, it resembles the semolina and milk dessert, without the semolina taste because the corn starch has no taste. 

Other than that, nothing, we just loved each other. 


Astazi a plouat toata ziua. La noi cand ploua este zi de citit asa ca dis de dimineata copiii si Lavinia s-au prezentat la biblioteca din micutul orasel Prado. Au imprumutat 12 carti, prognoza pe trei zile nu arata prea bine asa ca s-au inarmat.

Eu am facut o cafea dupa care am stat sa ma uit la ei cum citesc si la ploaia de afara, la rau si la natura dimprejur. 

Cand ploua, pe Oscar il bagam inauntru, iar din toata masina devin accesibile doar o bancheta si un pat imens in care incapem toti.

Iubesc aceste momente, pentru mine sunt egale cu acelea de Craciun, cu familia in jurul semineului.

Iubesc sa petrecem timpul impreuna, iubesc sa stam toti relaxati in masina, sa ascultam ploaia si vantul si gandurile.

Astazi am facut mingau, un desert ca la Isaura acasa. 

Reteta este simpla: doua linguri cu varf de amidon de porumb, doua linguri cu varf de zahar la o cana de lapte cu un strop de esenta de vanilie si un betisor de scortisoara. Totul se amesteca si se fierbe pana cand toata compozitia prinde consistenta de miere.

E gata, se ia de pe foc si se lasa de-o parte. Se mananca rece numai ca noi n-am avut rabdare si ne-am fript.

E bun, e ca un fel de gris cu lapte dar fara gust de gris pentru ca amidonul de porumb nu are nici un gust.

In rest nimic, am stat si ne-am iubit.
