CURITIBA – 09 MAY 2019 – BACK ON TRACK!

After a year and a half we said goodbye to our first love, Zimbros – Bombinhas. Brazil is much like the Goddess of love and beauty, the patron of sailors, Aphrodite; you cannot not love her.

I will not turn melancholic, but I will rather stay eager to discover every corner of this natural gem.

We stopped after only 280 km in Curitiba to visit and say goodbye to our dearest Brazilians, the Siegel family. We wrote before about them here, here and here.

Here we have been invited to an international convivial dinner of Syrian influence, hosted by a family of Syrian refugees. We dined like the princes of Syria and were delighted by live Qanoon music. We listened to incredible war stories I sometimes wish I wouldn’t have heard.

The food and the hosts are, on the other hand, unforgettable. We thank lots to the cook, Myria Tokmaji and her family. If your path happens to pass through Curitiba, I highly recommend you Yasmin Comida Arabe. Remember, it’s not just about the food and it’s not a restaurant. They will welcome you into their home, they will share their own stories, they will cook their country’s food and they will play music for you. I will not go further and talk about the father, who is a jeweler, the mom, who has… ok, no more details!

We will stay for the weekend in Curitiba and on Sunday morning we will set off to the green Brazilian coast.

Stay tuned, we are back on the road and back with the writing.

A new Travel Diary chapter has just begun.

In week-end ramanem in Curitiba si Duminica dimineata, o luam pe coasta insorverzita a Braziliei.
